+1 for sandals at st Lucia. We went and it was the best. Good staff and awesome scenery. Just had a friend that went and they also enjoyed it. Went to Bahamas and st Lucia was better. As far as panhandlers if you go to any beach unless its secluded with no other people and the resort can stop it. You will have panhandlers. This is my experience and from others I have talked too. Hope it helps. And have fun where ever you decide.

The wife and I did the St. Lucia Sandals resort as well in 2009. We stayed at the Halcyon and loved it.

Went to sandals halcyon last october. It was great and I really enjoyed it. If I went back I would stay at the grande because thats where the party seemed like it was at and ours was more laid back but still nice. But by far best trip I have ever taken.

Now if you can do fiji in your budget than definitely do that. That is where I really wanted to go but it was way out of our price range

Someone mentioned a night life and I don't think either of us want to party with anyone but each other. We both work long hours, have lots of hobbies, and spend most of the remaining time with the Boy... A week of just relaxing and hanging out with each other sounds amazing. A few activities here and there could make it fun as well.
