    Honeymoon ideas

Sooo I have a while to plan and some well traveled family helping me but just like to hear everyones opinions...

    What we would like:

    Pretty Beach.
All-inclusive.. The less I have to plan the better.
Safe- Not opposed to Mexico or??
Maybe some activities past sitting on the beach and drinking.. We will do plenty of that but probably not for 5 days straight.
Something that has private/secluded rooms or "buildings" if we can do that in budget.

    Budget:
Right now I'm thinking 5k for the stay without Airfare.
Our PLane Tickets are covered wherever we decide to go by a generous family member.
I will have separate money in the budget for day to day Activities, Shopping, Drinking on the plane , etc..

    No:
Florida or Hawaii.. We do florida every few years so that won't be as special. My folks and siblings have been to Hawaii and didn't really recommend it.

    Ready, set, go...

    Lets hear it.

This ran us just over 5 but airfare was included in that so it should be within budget. We went 5 nights 6 days.

I never understood why newlyweds spend good money to go off someplace and do the thing that honeymooners do the most of. That said, I don't have a clue about where to spend $5K for a honeymoon but I would probably use the money to go fish for walleye and pike in Canada. That is what my wife and I did.

              Looks like a great trip...

One question: With one of the large places like sandals did you feel like it was crowded or did you feel like you had privacy?

              Thanks!

We are going to Sandals Saint Lucia in October. We are doing LA TOC. I have heard really great reviews about the resorts. I like that the scuba diving among other things is included.

Oxygen Jungle Villas & Spa is a small-scale & exclusive, adults-only boutique hotel. Located in Uvita, Costa Ballena of Costa Rica's South Pacific.

We went to Puerto Vallarta in Oct for ours...all inclusive 4 diamonds resort (didnt even know what 4 diamonds were). I would recommend that to anyone...it was fantastic. We were treated like royalty. Food and drink were amazing.

That's where we went on our honeymoon. We stayed at Dreams Resort, they have their own private beach so no panhandlers. It was less than 5k and we'd go back in a heartbeat

It was a perfect mixture of both. We never felt crowded at all but at the same time if you wanted to interact with others you could do that too. For example, they had two BIG pools on the resort and one of them was nice and quiet, people laying out reading a book whatever. Then you walk around to the other pool and there's a DJ, pool volleyball and basketball, football being thrown, drinking games being played at the swim up bar. Then there were multiple hot tubs and of course the beach.

Check out the Victoria House in Belize. Also Excellence Playa Mujeres. Both were great.

                            All awesome suggestions...

My best friend was trying to talk me into this tiny little place (not a large all inclusive deal) on St. Lucia but he talks about the panhandlers and what not as they were around constantly. Especially at all the "vistor"/ touristy spots.. I think that would drive me nuts. I want to relax as much as possible with the woman.

I second the Sandals resorts. My wife and I went to the Sandal in Negril Jamaica for our Honeymoon about a year and a half ago and we loved it. Adult only and you have plenty of privacy but also have the ability to interact with other people that are staying at the resort too. I spoke with a travel agent several times and he recommended it based on our budget which was about what yours is too.
