    They'll eat anything...they'll eat YOU!.....

Sorry, got caught up in a moment there. I have baited them with fish before and they eat all of it.

Any of you guys ever watch that show on animal planet where the coons somewhere up in Oregon/Washington developed a taste for cats?

They had some lady on there crying in front of the camera that said "I went out there with a broom to shoo them away, but all the raccoons were tearing my cat apart". I felt sorry for her... but I don't think a broom is the first thing I'd be grabbing if coons were killing a pet of mine...

Anyway, it turned out the Raccoons were a family, and they called in some guy to trap her and her kits. I guess she had fed the cat on the back porch for years, and it turns out the coons wanted the cat food, and then graduated from eating it's food to eating the cat instead.

About 6 years ago I shot a turkey about 30 minutes before dark off of a feeder and I decided I would just wait until after dark a few minutes to see if the hogs would come in before I went and got the turkey. Right after dark I heard all kinds of coons and decided to go get my Turkey. Well so much for my turkey as the coos had ripped it to shreds. I did kill three of the coons off the turkey though as they didn't want to leave.

The Racoon is one of the smallest member of the bear family and will eat anything he can get his little paws on, including birds, rabbits, roadkill, fish, frogs, ect.

If a grizz will eat it, then a coon will eat it!

well, no matter what you think of coons I think you have to admit that if they eat/kill cats there is some good in them!

I know they love fat, pen-raised mallards.
