Question for the Cops

How big of a crime do you have to commit to have the PD use a helicopter w/ spotlight to come looking for ya?

Here's the story:

10:45ish - 3 loud pops from outside the house- I assume the party up the road is using firecrackers.

11:30 - I look out the front window and notice a cruiser with his lights on about 5 houses up. Looking out the back window reveals a 2nd cruiser with the lights on.

12:30 - I hear a helicopter and get curious - I thought it was star flight but then I sea big blue haze that lights up the street. I walk to the back of the house to get a better look and realize it a helicopter with a spotlight and it is making a fairly tight circle around our block and the field behind us...

1:20 am-Helicopter still circling the area but in wider circles- and I'm up posting a thread about all the excitement

I'm sure this will be on the news in the morning but seeing as I can't sleep with a low flying copter circling my house I thought I'd see if anyone had any more immediate answers...

I thought that might be it too, but the cops are a few houses up from the party, and people are still showing up to the party even with the cops down the street(these are all of age ppl and when I say party I mean small get together in the garage)

Yes. thank you for asking. House is locked, lights are out and alarm system is set.

Update- The cop down at the end of the street drove away slowly with his lights on a few minutes ago and I have not heard the helicopter in about 5 minutes - the cop in front of the house up the street is still there with his lights on.

Update -
1:37am- the 2nd cop is back only now his lights are off and the spotlight is on and he is crawling down the streets looking for someone.

Happened to us when we lived in downtown Temple once. I called the cops and asked if there was anything I needed to be concerned about, or could help with. In that case, it was a missing 3 year old, but the had just found him when I called.

Well I called the police dept. (nosy I know). The lady told me that the area has been cleared but she couldn't tell me what they were looking for.

Oh and the last cruiser just pulled away. Hope they find what they're looking for.

Guess it will be on the news in the am.

funny story:

i arrested a stripper last night in front a local night club because she did not know when to shut up. she struggled a some while i was handcuffing her and her boobs escaped her small top.

after she was handcuffed she kept trying to pull away from me. i asked her what was wrong and she said her boob came out of her shirt and acted like she was trying to cover herself because several people were around.

well we got her boobs back into her shirt(dont ask how). then a thought crossed my mind. dont she get payed to show her boob? so why is she so imbarresed now?

i arrested this girl two thursdays in a row. i dont think i would get a free table dance from her at her place of business!!!

Thanks for the tip. I really admire what ya'll do but there's no way I could do it. I don't have the patience to deal with criminals - if they ran, or gave my trouble - my solution would be a bullet to the back of the knees. Normally I'm not a violent person but if you've done something horribly wrong -well then karma's a bi*&^. imo

not as of 8:45am. Sure am curious though. The last time anything big happened around here it was a fatal shooting over a drug deal gone bad in the adjoining neighborhood. I'm hoping it's nothing like that.
