    "Raising Cane's" Review - Yech!

Went to "Raising Cane's" in San Antonio (Culebra) tonight, as they had their grand opening yesterday. I had to see what all the ruckus was about. I wasn't impressed.

Their "secret sauce" was supposed to have some "kick" to it. Really? Tastes just like mayo and ketchup with some pepper dashed in. No kick at all. "Crinkle Fries" got me excited. They smelled good. They weren't crispy at all, and were bland. The chicken fingers (only thing on the menu, really), had no flavor whatsoever. Very bland. Chewy. Slightly overcooked actually. All in all, I was very disappointed, and will not be going back.

I like my chicken with some flavor, and was looking forward to a new restaurant close to home. I'd rather drive to the Church's on 1604 and Marbach or Popeyes on Potranco off of 151. Longer drives, but much better chicken. I need to find something else to snack on tonight so I can get this yech out of my mouth.

    All the best,
    Glenn

I agree with you. I'll take Chicken Express over Raising Canes any day of the week.

I agree with this. And wasn't impressed with their tea either. Just good ice

Yeah I would have to agree the sauce is not that great. They should offer buffalo sauce

in my opinion when a restaraunt opens is not the best time to go they have new cooks and staff that havent gotten everything down right yet. The canes in college station is very good. But laynes is where its at!

I don't see all the fuss about canes either when I moved here to Baton Rouge. Thought is was very similar to Zaxby's. After eating it a few times it has grown on me!

i had it for the first time today. the wife brought home a huge pan of chicken with the dipping sauce from the mckinney location. personally, i liked it. can't comment on the fries or tea, because we had the chicken only.

Chicken Express is the way to go. Also the best sweet tea in TX.

I ate at the stone oak one the other day. Wasn't horrible but not impressed. My fries were crispy and good. Still just a chicken strip.
