I cracked up laughing when Willie on DD bailed out of the boat when a rat snake fell into the boat, he said he didn't know it was a rat snake. Then Si picked it up and threw it into the water, Willie scrambles back into the boat like a bull alligator was fixing to bite his butt.....lol

LMAO I woulda done the same. I had a (BIG) cousin that moved like a NFL linebacker when a grass snake hopped in our paddle boat. This was like 25yrs ago. Remember it like it was yesterday. We were like 3ft from the bank and he made it to shore on one leap. I just about died laughing
not at all, you let many come out in the open. we now have a brave group who when they see other peoples snakes, they can now openly admit that they like hugging, petting, shaking and fondling snakes. you shall be known as a martor for all the tbh snake huggers. stay thirsty my friend
any poisonous snake in texas except for the coral snake will be a pit viper thus having a triangle shaped head and slitted pupils instead of round ones.
You think I'm gonna get close enough to his face to check his pupils, while it's still Alive?!?! Are you nuts?
I didn't know we had timber rattlers around here until Bill posted that picture. All I've seen around my place is copperheads and a few water moccasins.
I let everything go that's not a copperhead or a black snake near one of the tanks.
It comes in seasons: first is head shots, neck shots, borderline 13 inch bucks, how dare you buy Toyotas and now snakes. It's all good sir! We live and learn
Edit: forgot the kill the spider, kill it with fire threads
Poisonous equals dead. Sorry snakehuggers.....they get zipped every time. They may not be very aggressive at that time but they are a potential future threat to me, my dog, my family and friends' kids being in the areas we frequent.
Non poisonous ... Alive unless it is aggressive and kids are around...or if one drops on me or into my boat then he is a moccasin until the rod breaks. Lol

Lol ....im not always a smart aleck...but when I am its on tbh
I agree with this, and I'm going to try and keep my comments directed at only the original poster on the snake ID threads and ignore the uneducated comments. I have been baited into arguments far too many times by people looking for a reaction/argument.
My only other pet peave is someone killing a snake, then asking what it was. Google "Texas snakes" and see which picture looks like the carcass, or preferably do this before you encounter said snakes.
There are several snakes, including venomous ones, that are protected under state and/or federal law. You could save yourself some money.

I've snapped two falcon flipping rods because of cottonmouths...somebody probably could have made some good money off the events had they been filmed. It's amazing to see a big ****** off water moccasin come off a log or dam and charge the boat, dive, come up on the other side of said boat and climb their nasty attitudes into an 18' Ranger for the whoopin' of their lives!

I'm one of those "snake huggers". I have no problem with your opinion about snakes. I kill all venomous snakes around my or other's houses. Chicken snakes get killed anywhere near the house because of my chickens and pigeons.
I wouldn't really consider myself afraid of snakes and almost always give the non venomous ones a pass, but if I was in the pool and a 5' water snake was coming at me I might drown. Years ago I was fishing and had a 6' water snake fall out of a tree in to our boat. Both my buddy and I went swimming in December...
