My ranger has been an ongoing project....

Most recently I installed rear cobra axles, backwoods armor arched forward a-arms in the front, arched a-arms in the rear and topped all 4 corners off with ridetech coil overs. No more top heavy leaning...

Also had a busted front differential that had to be changed out. Apparently a common issue with the ranger

Then, I staryed the fab work on the front bumper to get rid of the "bug eyed look" the PIAA's gave it.

After the coilover changeout it made my rear tires sit too far inside the bed, so spacers were ordered and waiting to be installed as well I need to fab brackets and install the 40" 11k lumen light bar for the roof and 2-6" led bars for the roof.... Hope to have time next week to get everything fabbed and installed.

          Top down
Top is a Richards Microfit Thumbhole "Tac Driver" in red/black and 1-2 months of sanding and fitting work
          Ruger 77/17 factory laminate
Boyds Varmit Thumbhole in blue/black laminate pretty much a ready to press fit
Boyds Lightweight Thumbhole Pepper Laminate again just a touch of inletting to fit.

Im awaiting another laminate in Birch for a rem 788 right now.

I also bed them myself: http://discussions.texasbowhunter.co...edding+project

They are vortec heads from a truck. I dont think i can get them where i want them due to hardened inserts. The block is going to get bored 30 over and clearanced so i can build a 383.

                Redoing the wood first.
                Then probably briley chokes
                And nickle plating.

Always have a gun project going on.
You sure need to post finished pics after the nickel plating! Nice work coach!

You should do a thread in the DIY section. I would love to see it when it's done!!

Will do. I think Im gonna have to slow down on the project for a bit because I cant make up my mind...

                    Basically boils down like this
barell: Leave stock, or send to brileys have it cut down to ?? and install chokes
Barrel and Frame: nickle plated in matte or mirror finish...

I have a few options in mind and cant decide what I want to do so its just setting.

Probably gonna send the 257 wby to have a break installed
                    Install a Jard 1.5# trigger on a 10/22
Send an encore and SS contender frame to bullberry to have the triggers set at 1.5#
In that time decide what I want to do with the 1100....

Like I said I like to have a gun project going on

This has stalled but should be finished in a few weeks.
Savage mod 10 in 223, going to install a 1.5 lb rifle basix trigger and a Millett Tac scope in Talley one piece rings.

After being turbo for a couple years I decided the problems that come with it are too expensive and a reliable rebuild was in order. Ditched the turbo dreams for a track worthy, street reliable weekend warrior when I'm not driving the truck. Enjoy!

                              Before the rebuild began...

Getting a trench dug to lay the water line so I can have water at the camper at the ranch. Sure is going to make mama happy, we can have showers and everything. No more toting water 300 miles.....
