I have a CapOne card (my only credit card) - they gave it to me back when I had a sub 700 credit score (due mainly to not using any credit for years)

It has a rewards program that I use religiously to get amazon gift cards which spend just like cash.

I also have a checking account with them (I think it is the Premier Plus Rewards) which does the same thing.

    I like free stuff!

Run from credit cards a they are a disease for most.
I know so many people that just can't handle.

Get a small lone from the bank and pay it back so you don't have a open a credit card.

Try a secured credit card from Bank of America if you really want to get one. You'll graduate to an unsecured card after a year of on time payments and get your deposit back

I had to re-establish my credit several years ago. Capital One and Orchard Bank both gave me cards. Both started with a low credit limit, ($300), and a high interest rate. somewhere like 22%. They both had annual fees as well.
I wasn't happy with them but they were what I could get approved for to get restarted. I don't have either of those cards anymore. They were an annoying stepping stone that I needed at the time. I try to use cards as little as possible now prefering to keep my debt load to a minimum, but I do want to keep my credit scores up so if I do need to make a big purchase I can, and with a low rate.

Sometimes it takes credit to save money down the road. I keep a Southwest Airlines one and pay my mortgage and car payments on it then pay it back every month. Free flights are great. But you got to pay it off every month. Some people will tell you all day to pay cash but then you will be in the same boat you are in now with no credit history. These days credit determines many things and it is good to have some type of good standing.

Another option someone else mentioned, go to a credit union and ask about a credit building program. You start off with a $500 loan. Pay it off in a 3-4 months and take another loan out, $800 this time. You do this over a period of time, each time gradually increasing the amount. My credit advisor said she knew a guy with a mid 500 score jump to 700 in a little over a year.

sign up for creditkarma.com. they will show you your score and recommend a card that is best for you. It will more than likely be a secured card.

Pay any of them off monthly and your credit score should start going up, but it takes time.

Quit applying for cards all willy nilly!

Pull your credit report/score, fix any problems/errors, and do a lot of research on minimum scores for acceptance on the cards you're looking at. Since you've applied and been denied three times recently I would hold off for a while before applying for anymore.

There are CC forums where you can do a TON of research on what cards will work for you...
