    Hoyt Spyder 30 problems...

I bought the bow new in Feb. of this year. And as of a few days ago all has been good. The bow now has a "slapping" noise coming from it upon release. Headed down to Triple Edge to let them take a look! I hope its just a tuning issue but I doubt it. I'll keep y'all updated....

Do you have a drop away and does it hit your shelf?

Wonder if it is the new vibration dampners in the limbs. Keep us posted.

Yes it's a drop away. And I don't think so. But then again I'm not even close to being in the know how about this stuff!

I have seen several folks who have dropaways have their rest slap the shelf on release. Its not apparent early until the rest really breaks in and then it becomes louder. It can be solved with a shelf pad. I'm not saying it is your problem for sure but it is a cheap place to start...

Very well could be the drop away hitting on the shelf as Smart has mentioned. Also check all your screws all over the bow and make sure everything is tight. Sometimes they miss one at the factory before they send it out and as you start to shoot it vibrates loose.

check the screws in the cam as well, they can work loose.

The Spyders do have a problem with QADs and Ripcords hitting the shelf because of the way they are designed, since the shelves are curved and have a big rubber thing on it. The rest may just need to be tilted slightly upwards.. I would not recommend taking the rubber part off, I here it's a pain in the butt. And, apparently Hoyt doesn't sell replacement pads separately in case you ever wanted to put it back on..

Triple Edge should take care of u

If its maxed out, back it off a half a turn, I've heard that'll cause some noise sometimes.

The verdicts in.... the string stop was making the noise! I didn't even realize it was loose. Triple Edge took care of it. Also went ahead and checked all the set screws just to make sure.
While I was there I did get some Tomcat broadheads to try out!!!

                              Now I'm happy, happy, happy!!!!!
