only had to last 2 more hours but NO.....

Bought the wife a new ride Saturday, LTZ Tahoe, traded in the Yukon. Dealership was doing a couple things for us and was going to deliver the Tahoe this evening and pick up the Yukon. Well my wife was on her way home and calls me saying the Yukon just died and won't start. She calls her dad as he is closer and I head that way. Ends up the fuel pump is out. Luckily my bil is a great mechanic and puts it in for us. But dang all it had to last was 2 more hours and it would have been gone. But no $250 in new fuel pump and they will make the switch tomorrow.

    Rant over!

Haha. Inconvenient for sure today, but you'll definitely laugh about it tomorrow.

We traded a car in one evening and while we were waiting we took it to get something to eat. We brought it back and parked it. The next morning they called and asked if we had problems with it which we never had. It would not run and they thought the computer was bad. Just in the nick of time.

Back in the early 80's, my uncle drove a Olds Delta 88. He kept his car immaculate and very well maintained. He also traded about every 3 years. He traded his car in on a new one, 2 days later the dealership called to "inform him" that his trade-in threw a rod on a test drive. They were not happy with him. lol He had not had any problems with it and it wasn't knocking or showing any signs of problems. He just laughed and hung up the phone.

Yep if it could have just lasted a little longer..... I called the sales man and asked if we could just tow it to the dealership. I mean they did not give up crap for the trade anyway. He said that sucks but no, must be running. He sounded concerned but I am sure when he hung up he called all the guys in his office and they had a good laugh.

Hey at least you had a good mechanic and was still able to get it done. Bad luck for sure.
