Who cares what my opinion is, you hunted and shot it so if you're proud of it and want it mounted then mount it.

Aside from protecting farm animals why would you shoot one? Or would you shoot one? If you shot one in the heat of the moment would you feel bad?

Also, if you were hunting something else and a lion came by (which you were not hunting or even thinking about) and you shot it, would you still mount it?
I don't think I would since IMO it was not "hunted" only shot. IMO it's not the same as going out to specifically hunt a lion.

This sort of reminds me of people who buy mounts of game they did not shoot, which I never understood. IMO a mount should be something you're proud of.
I shoot them because of the ground bird decimation. Also - if I see the one at our farm that has been lurking, I will get it because it has attacked large dogs...Kinda makes me leery of walking in the woods early and late...

should be ready to hang on the wall then. I found one this last season and wired it to a tree to let the bugs finish the job

Yes!! Why because this is the USA, I bought license, it would be a trophy to me and it is legal! As far as a mount, I would get it mounted and if I didn't have the funds at the time I would find out how to prep it to mount when I did.

I would also process it and eat it as I have heard they are good to eat.

I hear the mountain Veil is real tasty!

I'd shoot one in a heartbeat!

Not sure I wanna get this started again...Some guys can't imagine anything like this exists until they're pinned to the ground by it but this is a game cam pic my Dad screwed up...out of an old Stealth Cam. But you can see it. And Yessir - Jacksonville.

If you're driving your truck through a ranch, see a huge buck getting busy, drive right up and shoot it without getting out of the truck, would you be proud of it? Is that hunting?
But...it wasnt your intended target? Sure it's hunting, it may not be everyones preffered method but if it's legal then go for it, shooting from a motor vehicle is not legal so thats not even a viable question.

I would shoot a lion in a heart beat. That way I wouldn't be scared to walk to the stand
In the dark the next morning.

When I hunt, I'm hunting for anything that's legal.
If its deer season I'm looking to kill a deer, but if a bobcat, coyote, hog or lion steps out....it's gonna take a dirt nap!

I'd shoot it because I can and I would want to add it to my collection.

i'm not gonna come up with some excuse like "lions eat all my livestock" or "they eat alot of deer" (even though they do).

I like to hunt, I like the way mounts look and I like to collect them.

One out of maybe 200 hunters has even seen a mountain lion.....probably 1 in 5000 has ever killed one

I want one, just ONE, as a trophy. Then, the next one I see is just a beautiful animal that I will protect myself or family from if I have to.
