Currently live 5mi SW of Tyler, little town of Noonday. Have either lived or played over most of the state except the Panhandle, and far West/South Texas. I miss being close to salt water fishing and brush country hunting, but all things considered I'm happy where I'm at. I think AtTheWall came closer than anyone to describing something better than what I have here........but since all my family is here, I'll stay. Plus, I don't know how easy it is to get crawfish on the other side of San Antonio.......

The little lady and I will probably get a little place near Rockport so I can do my thing along the coast, guiding clients doing the fishing thing. Can't get that salt out of my blood and figured it would be my little home away from home as I do the semi-retired mode thing.

Raised in Brazoria County Texas.....Pearland back when it was only 7500 folks. Left in 78.......hate what it became now. Used to be rice fields, fishing trips on West Galveston Bay and San Luis Pass when it was still relatively unpopulated. Heck, the entire west end of Galveston was wide open with nothing out there but a few stilted beach homes. Surfside was my stomping grounds, surfed a ton there in my early years....at times.....standing up a few of the old Texas State surfing champs in the process LOL!

Grandparents are buried at St Mary's cemetery Fredericksburg. Dad graduated from Harper High School and now lives in Kerrville. The Texas Hill Country from the Guadalupe to the Pedernales has always been part of my tribe...Uncle has a ranch in Harper...now left to my cousin who splits time there and Fredericksburg.

Lived in Austin for about 6 years, after I retired from the Coast Guard. Had a home near Oak Hill.....before the toll roads went in and WOW it's exploded to a point, I couldn't ever go back there again.

Lived in Kerrville for a bit before moving in a bit closer to the toils of employment near SA....Kerrville simply doesn't carry enough Technology for me without having me fly all over the country to maximize my salary zone. Did that the entire time I lived in Kerrville...found myself driving to San Antonio or Austin for a plane to somewhere else to engage IT Solutions throughout Corporate America. Dumped that and did Boerne a bit before finally moving to the Stone Oak area of SA.

Through the years I've lived in Oakland CA, Alameda CA, San Francisco CA, Petaluma CA, San Diego CA, Kodiak AK, Chincoteague Island VA, Virginia Beach VA, Kalispell MT, Elizabeth City NC, Miami FL, Ceiba Puerto Rico, Corpus Christi TX, Milwaukee WI & Seattle WA.

I've been very fortunate to have had the opportunities to live and experience a wide range of this great Country from a day to day living perspective. The Texas Hill Country has always been my center point. Texas in the summer, heat is always an issue.. Living at a 1700 - 2000ft elevation in the Kerrville area has a way to nullify that early morning humidity known so much everywhere else in the State except for the regions with same or higher altitudes. Boerne is around 1200 ft....Fredericksburg is around 1500 ft...each elevation point does make a small difference. I think the old Germans, Czechs and Poles knew this when they settled this region....it might not be much to those from elsewhere but...during hot Texas summers, it's quite noticeable.
