Felt sorry for a guy today

Was at a gun shop today when a man came in with a Rock River Ar15, 4-30rd mags, scope, sling and hard case, said I need cash, owner said what you want for it and he said take $600.00 for all, my jaw dropped as did another person in shop, man must not have known about the Ar craze, wanted to speak up and say your selling to cheap, but just walked out, knowing I would have been thrown out if I had said anything.

    God Bless

If the gun shop kicked me out for that I would find another gun shop. They could have still given him more money for it and still made a nice profit. I just don't understand taking advantage of someone when they are down on their luck. What goes around ALWAYS comes around.

You did the right thing...the owner set the price,no one forced him to set it low...If it was my store and you butted into my deal....you wouln't be welcome to come back again...

I think I would have said something. Maybe not any particular amount, but I would have said, "are you sure? you know, they are in high demand."

And my gun store wouldn't have said anything to me or him either way.

Might have just stolen it and was trying to unload it quickly. Never trust too good of a deal.

had something similar happen @ Carters Country in Pasadena. They quoted me a price on a trade in gun that was way too low and before I could say a word the guy next to me at the counter offered me fair value for the gun. We walked outside made the transaction and I went back in and bought what I was looking for. Worked out well for everyone and the Carter Country employee never said a word.

I wouldnt have been able to hold my tongue. I would have DEF offered him more on the spot, or at least let him know he had it SEVERELY underpriced.

X2. It's not taking advantage if somebody if you offer a price and they accept. The gun owner could have easily said no or negotiated a higher price.
