I don't think anyone wants that.

How about this? You go on welfare you have 3 months to get a job. Doesn't matter what job, but something. If you don't you lose 20% of your welfare until you do get a job. If your job doesn't pay as much as you were recieving on welfare than welfare will still provide the difference. Drug testing is required as long as you recieve anything. You fail the test you lose.

With the system set up the way ours is now, I'd agree. But if it was mandated that it be only temporary, maybe 6 months max, then I wouldn't agree with your statement.
So is the drug test.
I disagree. No one is forcing you to get on assistance and no one forces you to STAY on assistance. You choose to get on it, you also choose to be tested.
Mandating who can and can not have children is just the final nail in complete control.
I say test them every month. If you fail, you are given a month to pass the test. If you fail again any time in the next 6 months, you lose all benefits. I have to conform to this policy for my job. Why can't they for them to recieve my tax money?

I heard somewhere,
"you don't work you don't eat"
I don't care if it's on the side of the road but anyone getting assistance should ASSIST!
Seriously, go back to commodities only and see how many folks find a job.
rice, beans, peanut butter, powdered milk, flakes (no suger), etc. and I guarantee folks will look for work to get ice cream, steak, cold drinks, etc.
Oh, and think about this as far as testing, you read this week where CVS pharmacy and India Airlines are required employees "be in shape".
Since our govt is handling insurance it's just a matter of time before ALL of us will be told what size drink (bloomnut) etc. we can have.
It's coming but it will affect working tax payers not the "fiddy one percent" not working.
