As much as I hate to see what it can do, TB is right and I have sat through classes of charts, statistics,etc..showing it is true.

Pretty much any reputable company uses it now a days.

With the company I write there are 5 company placements (all under same company name)I can put you in based on credit. The difference between 1 and 5 may be more than 100 a month.

We will work with medical bills or divorce situations if they can prove it.

deerplanter- if that is her case and she can prove it there is not a company out there that would not work with her and place her properly. As big as Identity theft is right now, it is pretty easy to get it taken care of and off your record if you go through proper channels and stay persistant.

The "risk score" that I mentioned above includes considerations other than credit alone. Such things as age, driving record, claims history, marital status, occupation, home ownership, etc., etc. go into making up this risk score. Credit is only a part of it. In an effort to make it simple to understand for clients, many agents falsely refer to it as just "credit score" - but it's more than that and as Howard mentioned above - most companies will work with you on that score in situations like your GF is facing if she can prove it up.

If my math is correct, they went up $102.00 for 6 months and gave me back $34.00 of that. I am guessing that they increased everybody's premiums in order to give every body a "good driver" refund every 6 months. I've been with Allstate since 1963 and have only had ONE claim!!!
When my car was wrecked in the gated ranch in Texas, I did not make a claim. Tink and I paid for the repair.
Since then I have learned that I HAVE uninsured driver insurance and Allstate would have fixed my car. Sorry, Tink.
