why is it so hard to find a decent hunting lease?

I have looked on several different sites in search for a hunting lease that fits the budget.. Zero luck. does anyone have any suggestions or know of anyone who could send me in the right direction im looking for something for my wife and I in central,hillcountry, south or west tx and not wanting to spend over $2500

Have you tried the feed stores in some of the areas your looking at? How bout the chamber of commerce in those areas? Its tuff finding a good lease but dont give up, im sure youll find something b4 the season starts.

Like mentioned above, contact some of the chamber of commerce in the hill country. Most of them I talked to were very willing to help! If they dont know of anything they will take your name and number and keep it on file. Some of the chambers have a list they will email to you or that you can look at online!

Greed? So, it's wrong for a landowner to want to be paid for you to have the priveledge of hunting his land? Or should he just charge enough to cover his property tax and thats all. I mean is he just being a mean ******* because he wants to make a few bucks?
Or, I know, you believe in this whole wealth redistribution thing. Maybe we should just have the government take all the ranches away from all the ranchers and give them to "The People"! So then we would all live in THE LAND OF SUNSHINE AND LOLLIPOPS" and we would all have a free place to hunt, oh, and a puppy!
