Yep, know where that is. A long time ago, my Grandpa owned a house in Garnerville and rented it out. Also love me some Rockland Bakery! Getting fatter just thinking about it.

Thats funny right there! Yup...Rockland bakery is still in biz packing customers in the door each and every day. Maybe you need a shipment of some Rockland cake and rolls! Since you KNOW what good bread tastes like...How does the Lone Star state compare in food and eats? I know Mexican is BIG. I will have to adjust.

Small world for sure...Suffern is about 20 minutes away. There is a lot of Revolutionary history in this part of NY. Especially here in Rockland county.
I am in Garnerville and bow hunt here as much as I can in the woods behind my home.

Yeah...I know I will need to brush up on the Texas Twang...My friend in Houston constantly says when he either didnt understand what I said or didnt hear me " do what?". I say I didnt ask you to do anything...Oh yeah... and "fixin to"...Why do y'all fix to do things. Why don't ya just do it?
I am already being called Tex on the job. Being asked why my spurs are jingling and jangling...oh yeah heres another...If my head will fit in a 10 gallon hat. I work with a bunch of comedians.
My son Joe is really excited about possibly moving on down. I guess I can say he is fixin to leave NYS. As am I. Did I use "fixin" correctly?

Yes, you nailed it!! Pretty soon "fixin to" will turn into "fidna", and then you will have mastered phase one of Texas twang.

Thanks for the invite to the GS Corey! This is quite more fast paced than Realtree for sure. Some awesome folks around here and quite generous also. The way many on here behave, explains a lot of how my friend in Houston/Harper behaves. I mean that in a good way. Folks always looking to help, teach, give rides, pick up and drop off and just be down right friendly. Oh yeah...If you say something dumb...they let you know that also .

Welcome aboard I too am a ny transplant. LI boy. Been down here 17 years and still get the Yankee thing but when I get back to visit the family I get " where you from". And I'll tell ya what, after a couple of lone stars kicked back I start to sound straight out of Brooklyn. This state of Texas is a great place to live but I do miss me a good pizza and bagel. Oh and another thing saying f-u is not like NY, texans take offence to that one a lot for some reason. One good slang is put it up.... It's like put it away. Welcome to the fire

Thanks for the heads up! I hate this police state and am counting the years til I get to go. I met a guy from Austin yesterday on my job(9/11Memorial and Musuem at Ground Zero). He is an inspector doing work for FEMA. He admired the "come and get it" cannon from Gonzales and the You all may go to hell, But I am going to Texas" Davy Crockett stickers on my tool box. Small world.

Glad to have you, I had a kid in my platoon that was from the bronx (sp ?) And boy was he weird. Nice guy but weird lol. Anyways that kid had never seen the woods in his life except when he was in NC for his training so I just figured that's why he was that way :beer:
