    Newbie introduction

Hello everyone. I am new here and introducing myself.
My name is Anthony. I'm 49, married 23 years, have 3 sons 21,19 & 16. They all hunt and fish. With my oldest being the most driven by the outdoors.
Now before you start hating me...Yes I currently live in NY. Was born here. I had no control over that. But I do have control over where I am going to retire. That would be the Hill Country.
    Stay with me here.
I have been a electrician for 29 years, currently working the last 3 years on the 9/11 Memorial and Museum at Ground Zero/World Trade Center in NYC for the largest electrical contractor in NYC. I am a avid outdoorsman.
    Been hunting over 25 years
    With Bowhunting my greatest passion.
I gun/bow/deer/bear/waterfowl/turkey /varmint hunt and trap. I live about 40miles north of NYC(Rockland county) and commute there daily to work. I have about 7 years to go until retirement. A few weeks ago, while I was down there. I purchased 6.5 acres in Harper,TX. Dead smack in the center of the Hill Country. I have been going to Texas for the last 6 years on free ranging Axis hunts with a GOOD friend who lives in Houston and has a ranch in Harper also. He raises whitetails and exotics on his ranch. I fell in love with Texas and the kindness of the people I have met. Not to mention the wonderful tax structure and low property taxes. Kerrville/Harper stole my heart. Much state and country pride in Texas. Nothing like that up here in this trash hole nanny state I live in. With Prince Cuomo up to his tricks as of late...I wasn't going to hope he would change his mind and reverse the anti gun laws recently passed. So I decided not to wait. I had a lead on this property and dropped the hammer and bought it. Wife ain't too happy. But I have time to convince her to move. Until then...The Hill Country will be a 2 maybe 3x a year visit. My son Joe is going down in April to hunt Rios and will be sizing up the area to possibly make a move down there for good. He is young enough to have a good life and grow with Texas and its freedoms.
Now before y'all start getting yer panties in a bunch about Yankees moving on down to Texas. I promise my family will be positive additions to your great state come time. (notice I said my family...not me).

In closing. Thanks for the great state you guys have maintained and made so darn attractive. We love to hunt and shoot here and Texas makes more sense than anywhere else to do what we love.
Thanks for having me and nice meeting you.
    Anthony

I will now be taking questions...

I have recently been elected to the board of directors for NY Bowhunters.
The largest bowhunting organization in the state. I have been a county rep for NYB for 5 years.

Even though I have not formally introduced myself yet to the GS... Welcome!

My extended family lives up in your neck of the woods in Rockland County (Suffern to be precise.) Love to visit that area, very beautiful.
