I never invested in a top notch pellet gun, so our go-to method is a single shot .22 and a box of CB caps. For those not familiar, CB caps are a tiny .22 cartridge containing just a primer and a bullet of around 20 grains. They only go about 750 fps but they are as quiet as a pellet gun. My boys used to set up a snipers nest in a second floor window and knock squirrels off the backyard bird feeder.

        judo points ftw!!

I did this in college and FREAKED out my roomates and guests. Walked outside with my bow, casually walked back in with a squirrel and started frying it up.

If you can cook chicken and dumplins, you can cook squirrel.

Ha! My older son shot a squirrel on the ground in the backyard with a field point. It somehow had the energy to run about 30 feet up in a tree with the arrow through it before it died. It fell just a few feet and the arrow hung in the branches. There it stayed for months until it became petrified. Wifey was not amused.

I shoot them with the super colibri .22 shells. They make less noise than the high powered pellet guns and will take out a squirrel no problem

I kill every squirrel I see around here. I also use .22 CB's but out of a Contender with a rifle scope on it. I killed fifty plus for several years but only get around 20 or so a year now. There numbers are at a more manageable number now I guess.

I use a traditional style blow gun - handmade not the plastic ones you can buy at the flea market. I use real wooden darts and works like a charm! My full blooded Cherokee father-in-law had it made for me by his buddy.

I have a few i need to 'relocate' here as well. Tired of the bird feeder issues. I too live in city limits. Those cb's will work a number on a squirrel!

I used to bait squirells in my back yard. A few sunflower seeds in the v of a pecan tree and a pellet gun. Neighbors never knew.

They are not considered anything around here, shoot as many whenever you want and you can throw a rock or use a blow gun if you wish.

Well, then keep on shooting and the law of averages will eventually catch up with the squirrel--

And, here's the results of my last outing:

I grew up as a young man shooting squirrels with a 20 gauge. Love shooting them with a shotgun. Miss shooting them. Would love to find a place to take my 7 yr old!
