I have them in my two bath rooms. I poured them my self and in place. I experimented on frames about 2'x2' first and determined that I cannot trowel concrete worth a spit. I got my buddy to do it for me and you could see your self in them even before the finish went on. !3 years now and no problems.

My brother poured concrete counters in his house when we remodeled it. I wasn't present for the pour, so I don't know how hard it was, but they turned out great. In the downstairs game room, he poured a bar with a rough edge, kind of like one of the ones posted above, and it looks awesome, like fractured sandstone with the stain he used. Upstairs in the kitchen, he did a sort of bull nose, and stained them to look similar to a dark vegetable tanned leather, they also look great. As far as I know, he's had no problems. The really cool thing about concrete....to me is....if you're handy with tools, you can do it yourself and save some serious coin, not so much with granite or other natural stone. You can either build them outside and bring them in, or pour in place, which I think would be easier and give a seamless finish. Overall, I like them and want to put them in my house when I build.

I used to install cable for Galaxy Cablevision back in the day. Hubbard and Dawson were the southernmost towns in our area.

I have stained concrete floors and I fretted about the diming of the polish, stains, etc, but now I understand that I can polish it whenever I want by renting the polisher. Most of the stains eventually disappear - except where the dog got sick. The stomach acidic / runs were highly acidic. Everytime I polish, it looks better. I'll never go back to carpet.
Understanding this about my floors is good, because I also understand my granite won't need this extra care.
