I agree with Mud Shark on the price for $2500 the dog should be able to pass a Junior Hunt Test maybe even a Senior Hunt Test. And if you spend more as in $3500 to $4000 you should get a complete dog that can pass a Master Hunt Test. In that price range you can find a great Pedigree. The dog should be able to do multiple retrieves, run lines, take a hand cast do blinds etc. If you do some research you will find some amazing finished dogs by reputable trainers.
