    What to do!!

So I am on a lease in Sonora that has decent (130 top end) deer with blackbuck and a few axis. We are going on our 6th year managing the property (1200 acres, 5 hunters) and paying $2000 a hunter, which is pretty fair for that area I feel. I am the lead hunter of the entire 3000 acre ranch. I just got a call from my buddy who has 5200 acres in South Texas (Zapata Co) wanting me to get on a lease there for $2500 a spot, 6 total. Property has not been hunted in 5 years. I know it sounds too good to be true, but this is an old college friend that said he would help me out to compensate for the 6 1/2 hour drive. Two deer were killed on the nieghboring property that both scored a hair under 170. So, now I have to decide. Stay on my Sonora lease where my family hunts and have a 3.5 hour drive, or get on this lease down south (a dream of mine to hunt there) for more money, farther travel time, but bigger deer!

You got a lot of time invested in your place now. I'd stay.

Try to do both. Maybe sell a management, cull buck, doe, or pig hunt to offset the cost.

Likewise but also would depend upon what the entire family would say, since they are hunters as well and if the other property allows family to hunt.

I personally couldnt swing 4500 for 2 deer leases then pay for corn, feed, and upkeep. especially 6.5 hours and 3.5 hours away.

I'd go South. In a Heart Beat.

I'd say both but if you can't swing it, I would stay in Sonora. Sounds like you have a real good thing going there.

If you can only have one I would stay and hunt with my family. South Texas will always be there family won't.

If allowed, sell one axis and one blackbuck hunt in sonora to help pay for both. If not possible, I don't believe I could give up free range exotics that close to home even for a bigger whitetail.
