Snake boots or chaps???

I use the Rattler brand snake gaitors they are a little noisy but I don't think they are hot. I can take them on and off quite easily and quickly. The full leg chaps are a little stiff legged and hot.

There is also the turtle skin brand of gaitors and chaps. Supposed to be very light but expensive.

Danner snake boots from Cabelas, only took one day to break in. Well worth the money.

I will second the Danner's. They are fantastic boots, not hot, and very comfortable.

Like everyone said, chaps are very hot. I've got both. Primarly wear the boots. If your quail hunting in sticky stuff the chaps are good for bucking the brush.

I have the chaps and about the only time I wear them is when clearing land. Have chainsaw etc going and just hard to look for snakes so feel better with them on. They are hot though.

I've wanted to try to step on a rattler with my boots, and see if they really work and cut off it's head, but it's like snowboarding and trying to point the board straight down the run, 1/2 of my brain says 'do it' and the other 1/2 over-rides and says 'NFW'.
