Have had iphone 4 since the first day it came out. Never carry it in a case and it is still going strong. Bought phone for thin size don't want to bulk it up.
Nephew and Niece both put on Otterbox and Lifeproof and have had to replace phone because of cracked screen.
Just my two cents worth.

I put a Mophie on mine. It protects the phone well plus it is a built in battery that will recharge my phone if the battery goes dead...

The new Otterbox Armor will be out in Feb. might want to wait and check it out. I might be the only person who's Lifeproof didn't last but 7 months, it worked great until the screen protector came out. Not sure what happened I just looked at it and it was coming out, it never would stay in after that so I trashed it and went back to my Otterbox Defender. I will be getting an Armor once they are out.

This happened to me also, but I just called Lifeproof and told them it was coming apart. They sent me a new case and had me send my old one back.

Be careful of buying on amazon or eBay ext... I bought a life proof on amazon and it broke within 2 weeks I contacted life proof and turns out it was a fake. Life proof told me that almost all the cases sold on eBay and amazon are not real life proof cases. You will pay more but have a legit warranty if you buy it from an authorized dealer. I bought a new one from best buy and it is way better than the fake seems like it will hold up to what they claim. If you read a little online you will find that the speaker issues people are having with the life proof in many cases are the ones purchased online. Just food for thought

I've had both. Just got the iPhone 5 and put it straight into a Lifeproof. There are other good cases out there, but I'm not going to fix what's not broken. Lifeproof also has a life jacket for us fisherman, among other quality accessories.

Love my otterbox for my IP5! Get a good screen protector, and cut out that cheap plastic one on the case. Plus it adds a little weight to the phone- which is a good thing for me as the phone weighs next to nothing.

if you get one from eBay make sure it's a real lifeproof case. the cheap ones are from china and are not the same. they say lifeproof on them but lifeproof will not warranty.

Lifeproof. Thinner, lighter, slides in and out of pocket so much easier. I have had both and the lifeproof does not have a cheap piece of rubber on the outside that tears up.

Agreed. Should have two serial numbers on it. Check their website to find out how to make sure it's the real deal.

the only problem i had with the lifeproof was understanding people. The plastic over the ear piece sucks..... I have an otterbox now.
