Good thought lonestar, but our protein feeders went empty right before opening weekend and haven't been filled since.

Question about being busted by deer vs just not seeing them

It sounds to me like they have busted your stand and/or your approach route(s). I has a similar situation a few years ago when a big, old, smart buck figured me out. It wasn't until about the 30th day that I caught him watching my approach. He was at the feeder EVERY day except the days I hunted it.
Get rid of that 4-wheeler and if loud diesels aren't regularly used on the property, ditch that.
You can't find ground as pressured as the place I work and hunt and 4-wheelers and loud trucks are almost a guarantee of a lack of success. I don't think "scent" is your problem but them SEEING and hearing you is. Even our pressured deer will walk right in and feed a hand corned spot and average scent prevention and hunting the wind is all it takes to be successful here.
I don't hunt feeders for deer. Not because I think it's wrong but because I want them to feel comfortable coming to them all season. I use them ONLY to help force them into a routine of traveling to/from them at specific times. I hunt 100+ yards away using hand corn or a tailgate feeder.
Hope this helps
