    Who hunts on Callaghan ranch?

Which pasture are you hunting and if you can pm me your annual cost. I talk to Juan at the check point and he told me there was a few openings on two different pastures. It's attempting to pay that amount.

There are definitely better pastures than others on that ranch. Some are consistent producers of big bucks and others are hit and miss.

I hunt 2 different pastures there and know a lot of people in the other camps. PM me and I'll help answer any questions you have. It's not cheap.

I believe Clyde at Clyde's Archery in Corpus hunts there. I've seen some good deer he has killed. Not sure what part he hunts, but he has been there awhile. You might could talk to him about it.

Alot, it was 90,000 acres when I was hunting it. Not sure if any has been sold since.

Small world, my group and I talked to Juan last year and this year about leasing a pasture but nothing came up in our size. They had a big 8k pasture available but that was too much for the 6 of us. He mentioned they had a couple spots on existing groups pastures but nothing else. You pretty much have to bring or buy your own mobile home or trailer out there as well.

Years ago (late 80's I think) when we were hitting the Texas Shootout every year down there we happened to go to the headquarters (needed ice or something) and they had a pasture that was up for lease. Uncle asked about cost and they said min of $50,000 (we were not poor but sure could not afford that), I would not be surprised if it was 10x that now or even more.

I sure would like to go back down there and look around some more. I think the pasture we hunted was "Trevino". I could probably drive right to the place we hunted.
We even got drawn for a deer hunt one year. Of course all we knew was hunting in the East Texas so we were way out of our element and did not even get a shot

Good luck Buck Down, hope you find you a spot. It is a great place

Have you ever hunted the Cabecitas pasture in the last few years?

Yeah, I was on the Cabecitas for the past 3 years. Just finished moving all my stuff off there last weekend.

I'm keeping in contact with some people there...just in case I leave my lease in the future. For the record I'm happy in my Dimmit County lease.
