      Most likely v style spring clips. Just pry up. If you go to sears.com you can go to the parts department enter your model # and it will give you a diagram

        i was gonna replace the switch on my washer... til i found out they are $40! cut that sucker off and used a wire nut to connect wires together. works like a champ.

          thanks skeeter and green screen. my lid switch was cracked. i tapped it back together. working good now. if it quits again I will just splice the two wires together

            Jeans? Maybe a pen or pencil came out of a pocket; maybe a pocket knife, or something long and hard ... and jammed the agitator. Remove the agitator and look under it. You may find something jamming it.

              open your lid and look at the switch that gets depressed when the lid is closed.you can jam something in between the lid and that switch button and it will probably work, or you can try to bend the metal at the back of the lid out a little bit and make it push the switch in a little farther.... thats what i do with ours, they are junk.
