I had a conversation with a former Tech All-American last week and he said that he fears that Tech is heading into a period of bad football in the upcoming years. He also had an interesting take on Sonny Dykes coming back to LBK. He said that he spoke with SD about that very thing and that he said it would be hard to follow not only his dad, but the Tech fans would expect him to be just like Leach and he could never make the fans happy at Tech. Just passing along some info for the Tech guys.

PS: Let's keep this on track about Texas Tech and their search for their next HFC.

The lawsuit has nothing to do with Kliff or whether or not he comes to Tech.

I doubt that Monken is being considered. He doesn't fit the stated mold of what Kirby Hocutt is looking for.

The last 10-15 years are supremely relevant when discussing Kingsbury. He knows what can be done at Tech.

You are terribly mistaken on the reasons for Tuberville's departure. He left 110% because he knew he was going to be fired after next season. He knew he couldn't get it done so he bailed. That is why he took a job at a lesser program.

I didn't say that Manziel did everything. What I said is that he is talented and folks who say that he will stay just to keep coaching JFF and have a chance at being a contender are crazy. If your teams success is heavily dependent on one player then nothing is guaranteed. Honestly, if you take JFF out of the picture then you guys would have lost at least 2-3 more games. That isn't a jab. The guy is just good. So why do I want Kliff? The guy has a tremendous resume even for his age. He knows Tech and is loved by the fan base as a whole. The guy is supremely gifted with a strong football intellect. I could go on and on. I want Kliff. I haven't hidden that. But don't be so arrogant as to believe that it has everything to do with the product that was on the field this year for A&M. It goes much deeper and much further back then that.

Agreed. Chad Morris wouldn't be a bad call to make. I'm still not 100% sold on him but hey, he coached the guy who will be our QB next year in high school.

Cincy is a step down. Your hatred for Tech is shining through Doug and isn't covered up by the "I hope Tech finds a great coach...." stuff. Anyone who has read what you have historically posted about Tech knows that you despise all things Texas Tech. I've read it for years. I don't take offense to it as everyone is entitled to their opinion.

Leach had nothing to do with Tuberville's lack of success at Tech. Tubs had a quality roster when he came in and blew it for three years. Leach had nothing to do with the fan base getting to the point where most folks were ready for Tubs departure. If he would have won games then he would be beloved by the fan base. He didn't win. He isn't a good coach. There are many examples of coaches winning championships on the backs of great players. They did nothing to develop the talent but they rode it to a trophy. Tuberville is a prime example of that.

Do you want to know the reasoning behind my hatred (not as bad now as it was) for Tech is because of the way the majority of Tech fans and Lubbock citizens treated us when they found out we graduated from A&M when we first moved up here. I honestly use to root for Tech in high school and while i was at A&M and that changed drastically because of the treatment we recieved. It shocked and saddend me when we got here. Since A&M is in the SEC I truly hope Tech finds a great coach as I wish to see them beat TX and OK now.

If I were KK unless Leach was sending me about $30,000/weekly then he would just have to understand why I would go to TT. I don't know what he makes at A&M but I'm thinking about $500K before his raise this year. Figuring $2M with incentives as HC.
