I would be surprised if they actually did interviews in Lubbock. Unless it's a done deal and they brought him in to do a final and introduce him as head coach.

He was in New York all weekend and there would have been plenty of time for him to interview there where nobody would know.

Do you want to know the reasoning behind my hatred (not as bad now as it was) for Tech is because of the way the majority of Tech fans and Lubbock citizens treated us when they found out we graduated from A&M when we first moved up here. I honestly use to root for Tech in high school and while i was at A&M and that changed drastically because of the treatment we recieved. It shocked and saddend me when we got here. Since A&M is in the SEC I truly hope Tech finds a great coach as I wish to see them beat TX and OK now.

Anyways, Micromanagement at Tech is what got Leach, Everybody drinks, everybody runs their mouth... Its just that Leach was **** good at what he did, he knew it, and everybody around him knew it too... He went out on a chicken **** note... At that point they were just looking for a reason to fire the guy.. Even though he was the best we had for a long time.... Politics got leach and as Tech has been shown politics doesnt win football games...

With all that said If I was a front runner for the job, I'd tell them HECK no. Cant ever be good enough for Tech. If Leach wasnt good enough for Tech then no one will be. You would just be coming in and getting fired, taking on the headaches of some one constantly breathing down your neck... NO THANKS. TECH's Problems are not Coaches... although Tubby SUCKED (Cause he was the "people pleaser" they wanted)... but in fact they realized they couldnt have both... Public Relations is not a reason to hire or fire a coach. Hire and Fire based upon his abilities on the Football field. If hes not a great PR guy Hire him a PR guy... dont breath down his neck. Administration has lost its way at Tech... and it shows in ALL of their programs.

You are judged on your win loss record... the rest is just peas and carrots on the plate...

I agree with the bad way that Tech treated Leach and they way they fired him, but he brought a lot upon himself. A lot of that was the dislike between him, Myers and Hance. With Hocutt, it just may be different. Like I said, i have no love lost for Tech as they controlled us a lot, but I do hope they get a good coach and get to where they beat TX and Ok on a regular basis.

KK would be a great hire for Tech, but I do not see Holcutt taking a gamble on him, but it would be a good hire and well received in Lubbock.

I think there is a very good chance of it. Holcut knows he has to do something to unify the Tech fan base and KK would do that.

Sometimes you've got to take risks to reap rewards. Leach hadn't run a program and was an OC when Tech hired him. It's not a bad way to go. Just ask Florida how it's working out for them. I'm willing to take the gamble on Kliff. If it doesn't work then you move on. If it does he could be a genius hire. Hocutt has an opportunity to make a hire that nobody can fault him for no matter which way it goes.

Very good points. I guess I still see KK as a player instead of a coach. He started coaching as quality a control guy in what 2008? There is a lot of scheduling, planning, organizing that goes into being a HFC instead of just coaching. Since this is only his 5th season as a football coach I see it being a big gamble to take on the HFC role at a major conference school. I know the Tech friends I have are on board with it.

All my gf wanted for Christmas was Tubbs gone, so I told her I guess my shopping is done for the year.

i agree with the KK deal unifying the fan base. i think it is a win all around for TT. he may not have run a team before, but i think he is seen as a fast riser.

I hear what you are saying and it would be ignorant to ignore the facts that you present. However, you can hire folks that can handle the majority of the scheduling, planning, organizing, etc. I'm more worried about the straight football side than I am the other aspects. Tuberville was a CEO. We need a coach.
