When you start smelling yourself, your hunting partners have been smelling you for three days....

8 days. I finally broke down and walked to a big creek with my towel and soap. It was 20 degrees outside.

As the old guy said in Braveheart when he got stuck with the red hot iron, "That'll wake you up in the morning!"

No more than three or four days.

Had a friend once that had been in Colorado elk hunting for about a week and was flying back. Stewardess said it's the back of the plane and Febreze for you or you are not flying. She used most of the bottle on him before take-off.

June 2008 to February 2009 hunting Taliban in Konar, Afghanistan with 1st ID. Wore the same ACU's for five months, and they would stand up on their own when I took them off.

January 2009 my spotter and I were in a hide watching a guy dig a hole in the road in a known IED area. Out of nowhere, he stopped, looked up, threw his shovel and ran. He was picked up by the QRF staged around the corner, and under interrogation, he said he quit digging because he could smell Americans in the mountains.

About 45 days while hunting NVA when Nixon sent us into Cambodia to find the caches of weapons. Our fatigues were literally rotting off our bodies. No baby wipes back then. We could definitely smell them and I'm certain they could smell us.
