No way a 3.5 year old deer has that much wear on the four tooth. Plus the dentine is wider on his 4.5 year old tooth and you would not see that in a 3.5 yr old deer. There is slight wear on the 4.5 old tooth as well IMO

This^^^^ Dentine is as wide or wider than the enamel on the 4 tooth. About as wide on the 5th. He is at least 4.5 maybe 5.5

Not an exact science, but I'd go with this.

They kinda look like mine and I am 57 however that equates to deer years.

On my lease that would be a 5 year old jaw bone. No way a 3 year old. But I like to combine body and behavioral characteristics along with the teeth. Most of the time I think we are more acurrate with those characteristics than with the teeth.

Atleast 5.5 . I can't imagine how anyone could say 2.5 or 3. way too much wear. Mature deer for sure.

I'd put my money on 5.5

4.5. IF he has been on 100% protein then 5.5

                              Strange wear pattern

                              5.5-6.5

I would believe it if someone verified the deer was older than 6.5.

It's typical to have uneven tooth wear. As we are right hand and lefties, so are deer. It just used one side more than he other. I'd say 5.5 yr old.
