What do you guys without Tractors use to clear shooting lanes?

Ive got a water hole that is a great place but is covered up in tall
4-5 foot weeds. I need to clear a way in for the deer and pigs... Last time I used a shovel and a hoe.... I need something easier than that.

Im thinking weed eater would be a pain with the string, and a lawn mower wont do any good.

I dont own a tractor....

What are yalls suggestions?

Pic is what it looked like back in July when I cleaned a spot for the feeder... you can imagine its a couple feet taller now and dead...

we rented a peice of equipment called the billy goat. pretty sure thats the name anyway. walk behind and it has metal blades. will chop pretty much anything that you can run it over! even some small saplings

weedeater with the brush attachment..looks evil with a saw blade on the end, but will sure do it!

The place is CRP so Fire is out.... Thats about the only thing the landowner told me not to do... "Just dont catch the place on fire" So no open flames allowed.

This spot is not really open enough to get a tractor of any size in there... Just some old cow trails and cow pens... Really looking for something hand held like the walk behind brush hogs... or the weed eater with blades sounds cool.

I'd just like to open up the trails in some... maybe 3' wide so the deer that were once coming can make it back in... but still keep some of the weeds so they dont feel like they are out in the open.

The weeds are dead now... just need a way to knock em down
