I've practiced without the release just in case. I'm confident out to 20yrds.

i have one on bow. one in tool box on truck. and one in emergency kit in pack. and another in bow box in camp. did i tell you about the time i climbed into the stand over 1/2 mile from camp without any arrows? my deodorant had failed miserably by the time i ran in and back, just in time to kill my best bow buck ever.

I already shot my "trophy" buck this year so I'm not too worried about it, I was just looking to shoot a pig anyway.

Hey, y'all want to hear another funny story? All this talk of keeping a backup release got me thinking... So I reached into my bag and found my backup that I totally forgot about! It's funny because I left my bow on the four wheeler thinking I had no release and there'd be no reason to take it to the stand...

He dropped me off at my stand and then said I'll see you before the afternoon hunt...

Happend to me at the Quatro B last month I was bummed but then a hog came out and I shot with fingers and suprisingly enough a perfect shot. Not as concerned anymore but I do keep it strapped to my bow just in case.

i've done that a couple times! last time was mid-october and right at shooting light i realized something just wasn't right.....needless to say i snuck down and slipped as quickly and quietly back to where I HAD SET IT ON THE GROUND beside the bow when prepping to walk in. my remedy-i have started strapping it to my my bow EVERY time i case it(put it on immediately upon opening case) and now carry my spare(practice release) in the bottom of my pack EVERY TIME i go out !
