He said a biometric safe. I don't think that's accessible to others unless they cut off his finger. Ha!

My .45 stays on the mini bar built in the center of the house. to get to the front door i pass by it, pretty much anytime the door rings. What the person on the otherside of the door doesnt know is that it goes with me in my back pocket. My boy is 3 years old and cant even see over the droors.

I had this night stand built. You could do something similar in the hall by your front door. Click image for larger version

I can't find anything that fits that request. Maybe I need to fabricate this myself?

How do others keep a pistol near the front door - make it quickly accessible - but safe around kids?
Turn the upper trim into a drawer.

By safely meaning to be able to defend yourself

NOTHING shown here does that. The average time from door kick to in your face is 8 secs. Can you get into any of those contraptions in under 8 sec? NOPE!

On your hip is the safest place.

If you have curtains, buy a nylon cleaning bottle brush that has a loop in the handle. It must be larger than your pistol diameter. Jam it in the muzzle. Now just hang it over a nail that is hidden by your curtains. ShaZamm!

My kids have been raised around guns. I am not worried about them, its there friends I worry about. Therefor I have the biometric safe mounted to my dresser right by my bed.
