I vacuum pack everything. only so many months a year I can hunt. Don't want to lose any of it to freezer burn cause I can't just go get moreBut, to be fair, I process all my own meat so I have to do one or the other

We wrap everything in freezer paper which is waxed on one side and I have opened 2 year old packages that were just fine. The only thing we vacuums seal is sausage. The biggest thing we do is store all our meat in a chest freezer that is not frost free. Frost free freezers work by pulling the moisture out of the air. This also pulls moisture out of your meat which causes freezer burn.
