This cooler weather is causing some probs for me (and my cable slide). It has already cost me a shot at a big fat juicy doe (week ago). When the temp is below 40 my cable slide makes a pop...pop...pop...pop...popping sound as it comes back. It is actually jumping about a 1/2" at a time instead of sliding. Other than buying a "Mathews" w/the rollers
what can I do to fix this? What would I put on the slide/guard to stop this?
Yesterday a.m. I took a practice draw on a 6 pt. Temp was in the 20's. The buck was @ 18 yds and spooked even though I pulled the string back as slowly as I ever have. He spooked to about 25 yds, and I still could have taken him. But... while I was at full draw, he turned and came back in to about 15 yds. I had to let down (slowly again) and the slide made the same popping noise coming down. He didn't spook, but it sucks pretty bad....
Any advice/help would be appreciated..........
