I've been invited to go out to Texas Motor Speedway on Friday to go through the "Texas Driving Experience" program. As I understand it we get to do 10 laps around the track with an instructor in the passenger seat. We will be driving a 450 HP Corvette ZO6 - they're governed but I was told they will still do 140-150MPH ! Has anyone done this before? I'm pumped!

I did a couple of years ago with work. They took several of mercedes sports cars up there and we got to run some hot laps. It was feaking awesome in the newer street cars you will only get 140-160 out of them because of traction controls in them you cant carry your speed in the corners. but you can really get on it in the straight aways. We drove the sl, e class, and c-class cars.

Yep, did the Team Texas deal several years ago, it was great!!! On the second lap, the instructor started motioning me to go ahead and go around several of the other cars, even got to do a solo lap at the end as the other cars were getting down to the apron since I was the fastest of the group.
The ride-along with the instructor came next, they didn't get off of it in the corners, pretty cool to hear and feel the car next to you right outside the window net all the way around the track.
Do it!

I did the Petty deal at the track in Disney last year. (No it’s not a cartoon track), they hold some IRL races there. WAS a freaking blast!!! And I would highly recommend it to anyone.
The cool thing about the petty deal was NO INSTRUCTOR in your car with you. Your drove solo, and followed the instructor. He based your speed on how well you drove your line and how fast he felt you could go safely. This was pretty dang fast. After lap 9 I realized this stuff was not what it seemed. Great experience would do it again today!!!

We had team building event at TMS last summer for work and drove the corvettes (awsome cars) and did the pit crew challenge. We all had a blast, would love to do it again someday. The laps in the van loaded with instructors and passengers flying around the track made me a little nervous. That thing sure felt top heavy.
