    Feed the Tigers

Just a FYI for those of you that hunt anywhere close to the Tyler area. If you shoot a hog/hogs that you are not going to process and eat, then consider feeding the Tigers at Tiger Creek Wildlife Refuge. I understand that we need to kill all the hogs we can, I just hate to see the meat go waste.

I have never asked. You can see a couple of them as you are driving to the food storage facility.

There's one in Wylie that could use them too, if you are closer to Wylie-

There's one outside Boyd too. Not sure if they take hogs but I don't see why they wouldn't.

Nope, unless you want to pay the admission fee. At least that is according to a neighbor who took them a few once

I called the and asked if they wanted a hog and they told me the the tigers wouldn't eat them. I find this hard to believe.

I've been here a couple times and was told they get questions from hunters all the time about bringing in their deer or hogs for the cats. They told me they can't take them for some reason. I thought it was something about the cats's diet.

When did you hear that coonazz? When I was there they said 60% of the meat fed to the tigers comes from hunters, but that was some time ago.
