Grass question

My grass is almost all brown with weeds in the front yard despite frequent watering all summer. It's St. Augustine grass. I have a small yard and mow it myself. What should I buy to feed it and kill weeds? Is there anything I can do now or spring only? Thanks for any info/tips.

For a permanent solution, plant some trees and keep watering regularly.

Forgot to mention its a rental house so not wanting to put a lot of money in trees etc. just needing info on fertilizers, insecticides etc.

Yes you can still put it down, water more and you grass will take over the weeds.

u need to be sure that i do not have a fungus, if it is a fungus then use imunox. you can get it at lowes. do not fertilize fungus thrives on nitrogen. if it is a fungus and you treat it know the grass will not turn green this year but should be ok next spring

this,, i have ben fighting it in my yard, if you fertilize and you have a fungus it will go crazy, it starts out looking like crop circles and spreads, no reason your yard should be brown right now unless it is diseased. wade

Brown Patch fungus is really bad in the Houston area now. It is a regular fall thing but seems worse this year.

Take All Patch is very common in St.Augustine.
