    It must be disease or fungus. It's only affecting the front yard. Back yard looks fine. But the back yard also has many more trees and therefore shade

            MG13, I suggest you take pictures and visit your local nursery and ask them. It is hard to diagnose without seeing the lawn.

              there is a product just for treating brown patch. It has brown patch in the product name. May have to get at a nursery or somewhere that carries fertilizer. May be made by nitro-phos.
