There's a company/guy out of Milano that does complete assesments. If your looking for someone to come out there and do it you can check them out at Lochowranch.com. If you call ask for John Jones.

Oakhurst Bait Company. 14 miles East of Huntsville on Hy 190. He will get anything you want and he's real cheap. I buy all my bait from him. 1 lb of shiners cost $4.50. About 12/14 dozen in a lb. He keeps coi there all the time and some type of crap that eats moss. Tony owns the place. I used to buy all my perch and Gold fish for trot lines from him. $4.50 lb for each. Whole lot easier than catching them youself. He is supplying most marinas on all major lakes in Texas with bait and he will charge you the same price as them. I have used him 3 times to stock ponds with catfish. Don't believe he can be beat

I'm serious, you don't need any junk fish, just get some Karmex.

Karmex works great. Used it several times. Just don't throw it in on a real hot day and just throw a minimal amount on one side of the pond and let the wind take the "cloud" across to treat the whole pond. Results will be noticed within days.

Do you have to have an applicators license to get this?

When you say "all weeds" does that include the hydrilla, and duckweed?

It will if too much is put out. Scum is pretty easy to kill, so I would just sprinkle a little in a small area to make sure it won't. The tougher the vegetation the more you put out. The first time I put it out, I almost killed all the veg. so I knew that I put out too much. Next time, I put out only a couple handfulls, and that did the trick. This was about a 1/4 acre pond.

I get it at farmers co-op no license needed. Use it when water is between 60 to 80 degrees any warmer and decomposition will take oxygen supply for fish. Use about 2lbs. per surface acre water is safe for livestock to drink but don't use for irrigation.

Duck weed is very hard to get rid of. Hydrilla is pretty easy to deal with. Grass carp will take care of the hydrilla, but you will need a permit like you said. It is a painless process. I had all kind of weeds in my pond mostly alligator weed and lilly pads. I tried the Karmex, it did not seem to kill anything. Look into the Eraser AQ it is about $20 a quart and will kill about anything but the duck weed.

FYI I went to the co op in bryan and Karmex has changed its name. Dont remember the new name but the people there knew what I was asking for.

Along with the name change it is also now restricted. You must have an applicators lic. to buy it.
I got some other OTC stuff and tried it, but I have been at work since I sprayed it.
I'll have to ask my wife to email me some pics to see if it worked.

BTW Karmex, or whatever the new name is is not labeled for use in ponds. There is even a sign saying that on the shelf where it is. However, the girl that was helping me said, I know what you wanted this for and it really works...my dad throws it out like candy!
