Any particular time of day? Day of the week? Either something is triggering your stop or they are bored or need a stat. What color is your vehicle? I'm at a loss, not sure what it is. Has to be something.

I don't know why you draw so much attention, must be in a vehicle that they like. The questions you face are criminal interdiction 101. You must be an alright guy since you're on your way fairly quickly.

As for the gun, I agree that you are covered and doing nothing wrong. Fal cop was wrong.

Always during daylight in the afternoon. 3 to 6 o'clock. Both trucks were stocked, I added nothing to them other than a leyer of dirt.

Falfurrias is very bad about this sort of treatment. Be stopped there many times some times for no real reason. Some times my fault. It's always a big deal though.

Squeaky clean. Usually just five or six questions about my business in the valley and running the DL and on my way.

You are correct, in that a CHL is not needed. I believe it has to do with traveling through a couple of counties or something but it is hard to proof.

Just get rid of the bull nutz and stacks and everything should go back to normal!
That is what the law was years ago. It was changed slightly for a short while that you were presumed to be traveling and did not have to prove or even explain it. Since then motor vehicles and now boats have become an extension of your castle(home). You may carry but it must be concealed. You can also legally transport to and from your car and home concealed.

Sec. 46.02. UNLAWFUL CARRYING WEAPONS. (a) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries on or about his or her person a handgun, illegal knife, or club if the person is not

                (1) on the person's own premises or premises under the person's control; or

                (2) inside of or directly en route to a motor vehicle or watercraft that is owned by the person or under the person's control.

(a-1) A person commits an offense if the person intentionally, knowingly, or recklessly carries on or about his or her person a handgun in a motor vehicle or watercraft that is owned by the person or under the person's control at any time in which:

                (1) the handgun is in plain view; or

                (2) the person is:

                (A) engaged in criminal activity, other than a Class C misdemeanor that is a violation of a law or ordinance regulating traffic or boating;

                (B) prohibited by law from possessing a firearm; or

                (C) a member of a criminal street gang, as defined by Section 71.01.

Smart man right there! There has to be something that is getting their attention but I'm stumped as to what it would be.

Honestly you're a lot nicer then me to police when they are fishing. You don't have to answer any of their questions about where and why you're going through there. It's honestly none of their business. Seems like more and more police officers need to be reminded folks have rights.

I went on a ride along with my brother. I was very impressed with how proffesional he was and aware of a persons rights. I told him he should apply down here! We need more like him.

If I go down twice a month I'm pulled over atleast once. One time coming back from Harlingen I was pulled over twice on 77. Never a problem at the check stations, "yes I am" and go right through.

It has not bothered me until the guy threatened me with jail and the only law I broke was not using my turn signal when changing lanes. HWpatrol is just doing their jobs and I don't imagine most smugglers are doing 120 mph or driving vehicles that have numerous violations. So if a 39 yr old, 240 lb white boy, clean shavin, dressed decent is what they profile as a smuggler, I will continue to pull over for them. Don't see a reason to make myself a bigger target by running my mouth.

Maybe your truck is similar to one that has been reported stolen.

Do you believe that an officer asking questions violates a person's rights?
