Well you are gunna get what you pay for...and the higher end cameras have more manual adjustments so you can fine tune the camera for all light settings...although I run my camera on auto for the most part, I will switch to manual during low light conditions to get the best footage possible.

I really like the Sony HDR XR 500v. It's a great camera and the night shot comes in handy at times.

The camera I use now is the Cannon HF G10. It's a high end consumer camera that blows others away.

No the Sony I use doesn't have remote capabilities. That's why I was interested in the go pro.

Gopro has no zoom I duck hunt with one and will have one on my bow this year but. I also have a little sonny cyber shot that has a 4x zoom and it works great it shoots video and is waterproof.

What are you looking to do with the camera? I have a sony video camera and a gopro and use them both.

I've got a cybershot but it won't zoom on video mode and it's only 720. Guess I need to upgrade.

Lots of low model camera's have remotes. Got to best buy they have plenty so hard to recommend for me I want a. hard drive vs sd card b. 1080 (which most are) and then I like to imagine having to mess with controls while I'm nervous because a deers in front of me.

Which controls are easiest to use

Check out the Nikon Coolpix AW100. It is waterproof, shockproof and freezeproof. Has a 5x Zoom-NIKKOR ED glass lens and a 16.0-MP CMOS sensor to record low-light and fast-action photos and Full HD (1080p) movies. It also has GPS + Electronic compass and a 3 inch screen. And you can get it in Camo. All for under $300.

I just use our family video camera. Set up on a tripod and it is plenty good enough for me and my son. Frankly, he uses it more than I do. Can't get it out of his hands so I can take it.

I can get good video pretty late in the day. The gopro I didn't use much but it's a great little camera with good video quality. It's application specific.
Does it record front and back? I tried looking it up on gopro.com but couldnt find anything. I wouldn't mind mounting one to my bow if it records front and back. That'd be pretty sweet but seems unlikely to me that it'd do that.
