I'm curious as to why people consider it a con to have to use a drop away rest

A lot of us are not very accomplished archers, and like to keep our set-ups as simple as possible.
We are not as interested in "ultimate accuracy" as we are in total reliability.
I do know that the fall-aways are very reliable, but being as simple minded as I am, I have an aversion to anything I can't visually confirm is fail-proof.
In the case of FOBs, unless it is a substantial improvement, I'm not interested in any component that requires me to use a certain type of equipment.(fall-away)

I'm not a very accomplished archer either. That's why I want all the help I can get in accuracy.
Besides, as bad as the biscuit is at ripping off fletchings, I get tired of replacing fletchings all the time.
Do you drive a car or use a computer? If so, are they "fail-proof"?
If you just don't like the idea of using something new, that's cool, just say so. We will still keep you in the club.

They do work...no doubht. I myself will not use them because they are fugly? It don't even resemble an arrow anymore. I wonder what bow and arrows will look like in an other 20 years.

I guess you cannot stop progress. I will finish my Archery party to my end with what still resembles a bow an arrow...traditional.

Nobody is badmouthing them, in that they do not work...they do.

The great thing about archery is it always changes. And change is not for everybody.

I'll say this one more time.
I've set up hundreds, if not thousands of bows with both style rests, and both style rests work well, but there is not a substantial enough benefit from the drop-away,(for me), to give up the total reliability of the WB.
I've fletched tens of thousands of arrows, and with the exception of a poor fletching job, I've never seen a fletching,(Blazers), ripped, or ripped off by a WB in the current configuration.
I drive a car, and use a computer, but I'm not trying to kill a deer with either.

That's an arrow through a fob at twenty five yards! Pretty good if you ask me!

Does anybody have video software out there? I got a video of me shooting the fobs and I want to make sure they are clearing my rest.

Grouping like that, there is no problem with your rest clearance.

Any contact with the rest/bow on the FOB will let you know. Probably will not hit the target at 25 yards! Looks good to me!

I was given old issues of Bow Hunting magazine and saw an add for them . I called Paul and he asked me I got the phone number . I explained how , he said that the adds were 2 or 3 years old . That was 6 years ago . He said I as the first person from Texas to order them . I have killed many deer with them . Just love the way thay stabilize your arrow . No need to paper tune your bow .
I live and hunt in South Texas ,the real South Texas not central Texas . Where we have winds blowing above 25 mph all the time . Fob's work great in high winds . I get about 3" to 4" of wind drift at 60 yards . With blazer vanes i get 7" to 16" of drift at 60 yards .
If you have the correct draw length on your bow the Fob should not touch your face . It will touch if you have too long of draw .
The down side is that on a no wind day thay make noise when you shoot them . You can hear them when you shoot indoors . For this reason I still carry 1 arrow with vanes .
