I use the wife's finger nail polish remover to clean the shart( Ijust reread after posting this is "shaft" but thought it was too funny to delete). I use plain ol super glue, gel if I have it. put a drop at the top of the vane and let it roll down to the bottom, then be sure and keep the fletched arrow in the jig long enough to set the glue but not long enough to set the Jig!! (that's the tricky part) I usually keep it in the jig for at least a minute, but depends on the humidity and temp how fast the clue sets. When I pull the arrow out of the jig, I always put a little drop at the tip of each vane too. You still may get a few vanes that will not get seated properly and will thus fly off when shot, but I've had factory fletched arrows spit vanes too. The fletcher was one of my first additional purchases after I bought my first bow!

I've used EZ fletchers, I have another that I'm using now, but I'm going to be picking up a bitzenberger this weekend!

I prefer a Jo jan and Arizona archery glue make sure your arrows are clean and make sure that you press down firm when you put it on there not just set it on.. I had the exact same problem and that's what my buddy told me from the pro shop and all mine are on there solid now..

        Nothing much to add...

I use super glue gel, I put 3 or 4 small dots on the base of the vane and spread it with a tooth pick. I use acetone to clean my jig, and alcohol to clean shafts and wraps. If you have glue squirt out the sides or ends of the vanes, you're using too much.

None... acetone was designed to remove oils.

Pour some in the palm of your hand and see how how dry the skin gets.

Looks like maybe not enough toward the middle. That is close to as much seepage as I like then simply wipe away the excess with a finger tip or Qtip, set it aside and let it dry.

Yeah, was just curious as to what the person who said there were "oils in it" response. When people throw out bs I like to hear their reasoning.

Sorry I guess I used the wrong terminology, you are both correct it contains no oils. What I was rendering to was that since the DNA has a evaporation rate over twice as fast as acetone it does not seem to have as much residue. Of course both are 100% volatile and will evaporate completely if given the time.

Thanks for clarifying, The denatured alcohol makes sense when you put it that way.

I think the tough part is cleaning the fletcher of the old dried glue.

Would alcohol clean this or should I use finger nail polish remover?

I was able to get the excess off mine with a knife...just kind of scraping lightly...being careful not to get into the plastic itself...works like a champ

Mine is pretty goobered up. Got junk in the pivot area where a knife can't go.

I got 3 different kinds of glue today. I will see which like the best.

I basically, let it go too long with out a good cleaning.

if you have some needle nose pliers and a small trim nail, you can get the arms off to more easily clean, just take note of the off color arm's location.
