    Good hang on treestand?

Believe it or not there are a couple trees in west texas that could be hunted out of and I'm wanting to get back to my roots and do some hunting off the ground. Just curious to what everyone is using and pros and cons (big/small platform, coushion/net seat, etc...) and maybe which climbing sticks or screw ins.

Millinimum with rapid rails. All day sits are now much easier.

Forget the screw ins. So yesterday and unsafe. I own several brands of climbers and lockons. The easiest to pack and carry that I have owned are the Lone Wolf stands and sticks. Also easy to setup. I would suggest at least four sections to get you above the deers line of sight if possible. Check them out on their website. Not cheap. But, very good quality and SAFE.

Big game. You can get a combo kit for $120. That comes with stand, step sections, bow hanger, safety harness, gear rope, all for $120.

Millinium M-100 and EZ Climb Screw in steps. Very safe if you get good ones and know how to use them.

GameTamer or Woodsey Too. Not the lightest or easiest to carry around but most definitely the most comfortable to sit in and easily installs in Texas trees that do not have the staightest trunks!

I could never find on I liked so I went to a local farm and ranch store, bought a cheap $30 stand and built what I wanted. Large nails for ladder.

                    Pros
                    Huge platform
I built it so I know its safe

                    Cons
HEAVY but I don't plan on moving it again

I don't think a lot of people know about them but ameristep non typical I prefer the outfitter like 2050z posted the link above but hands down the best light weight and when you lock it down I does not move feels like its bolted to the tree.. Also like because the tree doesn't have to be perfectly straight for it to go in there.. That's all I've used for the past 14 years.. Was a individual that owned the company non typical but got bought out by ameristep a while back.. Set of rapid rails with that would be the perfect strong sturdy light weight set up in my opinion..
