All summer and the past month, I've had a several bachelor and my number 1 hit list coming around like a clockwork.
When I got here on Friday, it looks like two days of slinging corn piled up under the feeder. Checked camera, a stray dog, mountain lion, cougar whatever it is that has boogered up my quadpod area. No deer in pic only one that's buck but a non shooter. AR county.
I've hunted hard and tomorrow morning probably will be my last day to hunt, maybe tomorrow night before I go home.
I'm just speechless that these bachelor group of deer hasn't come in at all. No visible tracks at all.
Hog came in while I was in town and came in to check feeder, fresh track in the mud but didn't eat the corn or clean it up like it would.
I probably won't be back until two weeks, maybe not until Nov. I'm disappointed. Big time.
I was hoping to have spilled blood by now. I've invested and pore over my time and effort this year than ever. Gut-wrenching! Why? Because someone probably will have him if not by now, such a small acreage to hunt and now my chance seems to be dashed.
Oh well.
I've got to rearrange my tripod. 20 yards seems to be too close. One of TBHer stopped by and we talked for a lil bit. He said try to move further up, like 35-40 yards. Maybe it's less than that. Ill have to test the distance.
Going back to the drawing board I guess.
Sorry for long read.
Glad to see some of y'all's success. Proud of y'all and good to see the first timers get theirs on an opening day!
