    Deer Dog Recoveries: 2012-2013

Starting tomorrow let's post any deer recovered using a tracking dog along with a short story and pic if available. I will total the recoveries at the end of the season. This is to give us an Idea how much deer dogs are used and how effective they can be.

my buddies boy shot an 8 point in the marsh yesterday morning. They had no blood and looked for 2 hours with 6 guys.

called someone in town to go get his catahoula, beaux.

put beaux downwind and he found it in about 5 minutes!

congrats to Gunner Nelson and Beaux the catahoula for his first deer found. sorry for lack of pics.

this is bella's first deer tracking job. she has tons of training and a few pigs behind her already. this doe was shot well. what you see is the exit wound the other side has a hole right in the armpit. it was raining so hard that i could see the blood running across the ground with the rain water. the doe was down in a thicket and all the blood and tracks where pretty much washed away. it took bella 5 minuets to find her. we could have done it without her BUT this was great training.

i was so proud of her!

sorry for one bad pic but it was raining and we had work to do.
