I try to shoot the alone doe. You don't want to shoot your doe that are throwing twins. If one walks in with two yearlings I leave her alone. I would shoot a two year old doe before a big five year old doe that drops twins. Just my two cents.

I agree with this one, I don't shoot proven mothers. A filled out 2 year old is what I like.

shoot the young one, the others have proven they can have babies..plus those spots make for great aiming points j/k

I wont shoot a doe that has yearlings with her. Just never have, not that it matters but I am selective. I see no reason to shoot her, there's plenty others to choose from. But like I said above, a stomping snorting doe gets taken out regardless. A doe with twin fawn's is a valuable deer in my book, leave her alone!

I shot a yearling doe that weigned 58 pounds one year and my dads 80 pound doe only had about 3-4 pounds extra meat. I've heard the young ones require more food since they are growing while mature doe just eat to maintain body. So I really dont care if its smaller as other deer will get more to eat. Also take whatever presents itself with good shot.

As long as its not with a fawn, I shoot the most mature one out there

Exactly. Especially with the hard years we've been having. If they can keep their fawns alive and well then they're the does that you want to keep.

Ive got a similar one on my lease, but shes not that bad. I dont think Ide eat that one. Probably tastes like old boot anyway. Might just burn a tag for mercy sake.
