It's not an uncommon problem. You can try a factory data reset, and then restore all of your apps and info and it could stop the issue. I had a Mac book pro and my wife's phone do the same thing. Reformatted the computer and factory reset her phone, and both problems were solved neither batter would last more than an hour. It's definitely a software thing that happens from time to time, very rarely have I seen it be a hardware problem.

that and it makes sure your post gets seen

when you upgraded to ios 6 go into all your settings I'd be location services and other running features were turned on and need to be turned back off. It is a huge application so it causes the processor to run harder.

My 5's battery life is about 90% to my 4s

          6.0 is terrible.

No YouTube since their licensing expired..... They need to hurry up and put the "same original app" in iTunes!
Map app has a change as well, not sure if I'm liking that or not.

Up-dated my ol' 3Gs to ios6 and haven't notice any difference in the Battery
              life so far.

I have always kept the push notification turned off, and several times a day
I'll turn of apps that are still running, especially any that have GPS.

Just go into your settings and deactivate all the push notifications. It's formatted different and you need to go through all the apps and turn off notifications. Fixes it right up

It's a good thing the license expired. Ever notice how crappy it was? Google now has full developmental control over it and it works great now. Map app completely sucks I agree, but google is working on pushing an iOS version out before the end of the year hopefully. Apple broke the contract with them a year early and google was not prepared with a stand alone maps app for iOS yet.

                          Battery is just fine.

If you want google maps back go to maps.google.com, hit the arrow on the middle bottom of the screen and hit "add to home screen".

If you want You Tube back just go to the App store and download it.

and the Winner is^^^^ this will do it every time. Iphone 4s and Ipad2 no issues on either. But I have made it a habit to clear the background apps that eat battery, no matter the update.

Mine is updating now. Hope I'm in the "no difference" or "it's better" crowd. I need some battery life for those long sits
